St. Elmo-Brownstown tallied six hits on Thursday but was held to a single run in a 7-1 loss at Neoga in National Trail Conference action. Trailing 4-0 at the start of the top of the third inning, the Eagles had Heaven Hardesty reach base on a bunt single to third and Dayana Haslett followed up with a bunt single of her own. An error on the continuation of the play allowed Hardesty to score and SEB cut the Neoga lead to 4-1. That would be it for the Eagles scoring as they were held scoreless over the final four inning as Neoga stretched their lead to 7-1 for the win. SEB drops to 0-7 on the season and 0-2 in the NTC. They will play their fourth game in four days today when they host North Clay.
