The South Central Cougars saw their 3-game winning streak end on Wednesday, falling to 2-A State-Ranked St. Anthony Bulldogs 8-2. St. Anthony would get on the board, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. The Cougars would get a run back in the bottom of the first, when Trevan Sidwell would single to right field, scoring Luke Shumate to make it a 2-1 game. The Bulldogs would respond with a 2-run second inning, a 3-run third inning, and a one-run fifth inning, to blow the game open with an 8-1 lead. South Central would attempt to mount a comeback in the bottom of the fifth inning, getting back-to-back singles from Hudson Moore and Evan Hoover. One batter later, Callaway Smith would hit a single to left field to score Moore, making it an 8-2 ballgame.
