Vandalia Jr. High Wrestling Team Finishes Seventh in Class A at IESA State Tournament, Vandals with Four Top 5 Individual Finishers

The Vandals Jr. High wrestling team finished in 7^th place at this past weekend’s IESA Class A State Tournament while four wrestlers finished in the top 5 individually of their respective weight classes. At 75lbs, Dayton Patterson finished in 2^nd place after falling to Colt Roeder of Mercer County by Decision, 6-2,in the Championship match while Gus Kirk finished in 5^th place after beating Eli Sullivan of Fulton River Bend by Fall in 0:59 in the 5^th Place match. At 105lbs, Riley Hinton finished in 4^th place after falling to Phoenix Senodenos of Coal City in the 3^rd Place match. At 167lbs, Jax Carroll finished in 5^th place after defeating Xavier Smith of Williamsville in the 5^th Place match.

75lbs – Dayton Patterson: Finished in 2^nd place after falling to Colt Roeder of Mercer County by Decision, 6-2, in the Championship match. Patterson went 3-1 overall in the tournament.

75lbs – Gus Kirk: Finished in 5^th Place after beating Eli Sullivan of Fulton River Bend by Fall in 0:59 in the 5^th Place match. Kirk went 4-2 overall on the weekend.

80lbs – Conrad Braun: Went 1-2 in the tournament and was eliminated in the 2^nd Round of Wrestlebacks.

85lbs – Zander Pratt: Went 2-2 in the tournament and was eliminated in the Wrestleback Quarterfinals.

95lbs – Sam Osborne: Went 0-2 in the tournament and was eliminated in the First Round of Wrestlebacks.

100lbs – Kaden Daugherty: Went 1-2 in the tournament and was eliminated in the Second Round of Wrestlebacks.

119lbs – Hunter Berning: Went 2-2 in the tournament and was eliminated in the Wrestleback Quarterfinals.

126lbs – Jaren Rebbe: Went 0-2 in the tournament and was eliminated in the Frist Round of Wrestlebacks.

167lbs – Jax Carroll: Finished in 5^th place after defeating Xavier Smith of Williamsville in the 5^th Place match. Carroll went 3-2 overall in the tournament.

215lbs – Aaron Lash: went 2-2 in the tournament and was eliminated in the Wrestleback Quarterfinals.
