The Altamont Indians grabbed a first quarter lead and held off a second quarter run to get a 60 to 49 win over Marshall on Friday night to wrap up regular season play at home. Both teams got off to a quick start in the first quarter, but Altamont would be the better team in the quarter as seven points from Kade Milleville, six points from Cooper McManaway, five points from Ben Roedl and three from Parker Bell had the Indians out in front 21-15. Things would be even in the second quarter between the two teams as they both dropped in 12 more points with Milleville scoring six more and Tyler Ruffner getting in the scoring column with two points as Altamont held a 33-27 lead at halftime. Marshall would go on a 13-9 scoring run in the third quarter as the Indians were held to just two baskets from the field, one from Milleville and a three-pointer from Zaine Miller as the two also each hit two free throws and Altamont was able to keep a two point lead, 42-40, to end the third quarter. The Indians turned things up in the fourth quarter though, hitting beyond the arc for three times as Miller hit two three-pointers and Alex Walker added another and Altamont hit five free throws to outscore Marshall 18-9 over the final eight minutes to pull away for the 60-49 win. The Indians end the regular season at 18-12 after having won 8 of their last 10 games. They will begin the postseason at home on Monday as they will host Patoka-Odin in the Regional Quarterfinals at 7:00pm.
