Altamont girls basketball’s season came to an end on Thursday night as the Lady Indians fell to St. Anthony 55-30 in the Championship game of the Neoga 1A Regional on Thursday night. Altamont got off to a slow offensive start as they were held to just three first quarter points, with all of them coming from the free throw line, as they would trail 15-3 to end the opening quarter. They would get things going in the second quarter, adding 10 points to the scoreboard, but another 14 from the Bulldogs had the Indians down 29-13 at halftime. St. Anthony put together a 15-6 run in the third quarter as Altamont was again held to single digit scoring and their deficit grew to 44-19 to end the third. The Lady Indians best scoring quarter would be the fourth as they dropped in 11 points to play even in the quarter with St. Anthony who also tallied 11 points, but the early game deficit was too much to overcome as Altamont suffered the 55-30 loss.
