The #5 Vandalia Lady Vandals struggled offensively in the second quarter, falling to the #4 Salem Lady Wildcats 44-26 in the first game of the Vandalia Mid-Winter Tournament. The Lady Vandals started off on a 4-0 run, and pushed that lead up to six, taking a 8-2 lead after the first quarter. Salem’s offense would get going in the second quarter as they would go on a 13-5 run to take a 15-13 lead at halftime. Vandalia’s offense would continue to struggle in the third quarter, as Salem would go on a 14-8 run to trail 29-21 entering the fourth. A 15-5 fourth-quarter run from the Lady Wildcats would put the game out of reach, as the Lady Vandals would fall to Salem 44-26. With the loss, the Lady Vandals fall to 12-9 on the season. Vandalia will return to tournament play on Thursday when they take on SCC rival the #8 seeded Greenville Lady Comets.
