CHBC Girls Fall to Father McGivney at NTC-CIC Shootout

A rough first half was too much to overcome as CHBC girls basketball fell to Father McGivney 45 to 31 in the NTC-CIC Shootout on Saturday at Macon Meridian. The Lady Bobcats were outscored 15-7 in the first quarter to trail by eight heading into the second, but a rough quarter in which CHBC was held to just two points allowed the Griffins to pull away to a 32-9 lead at halftime. The Bobcats would take charge in the third quarter and get some offensive flow going and outscore Father McGivney 11-3 to cut their deficit down to 35-20 at the end of the quarter. The Griffins would fight back in the fourth quarter though as CHBC just outscored Father McGivney 11-10 in the period and could get no closer than 14 points in a 45-31 loss. CHBC is now 8-11 on the season and will begin play in the National Trail Conference Tournament at 11:10am on Monday as they will take on Brownstown-St. Elmo in the Quarterfinals.
