Altamont Drops Third Straight With Home Loss to Carlyle

After winning three of their first four games, Altamont boys basketball has lost three straight after suffering a 50 to 28 loss to 1A #12 ranked Carlyle at home on Tuesday night. Despite not having two starters available for the game, the Indians would work well in the first quarter as four points from Kade Milleville and a big three from Parker Bell had Altamont right with Carlyle, 8-7, at the end of the quarter. Carlyle would edge their lead out further with a 12-7 second quarter run as the Altamont scoring would again come from four points by Milleville and another three from Bell as Altamont trailed 20-14 at halftime. Altamont was again held to just seven points in the third quarter as they were outscored 13-7 and saw their deficit become double digits as they ended the quarter down 33-21. A 17-7 Carlyle run through the fourth quarter would close out the game as Altamont was handed the 50-28 loss. Altamont is now 3-4 on the season. They will have another tough matchup coming up on Friday as they will go on the road to take on Tuscola before taking just under a week off before beginning play at the Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament.
