CHBC's Cosart Qualifies for State Cross Country Meet, Bobcats Finish 10th as Team at Sectional


CHBC junior cross country runner August Cosart has qualified for the IHSA 1A State Cross Country Meet while the Bobcat boys finished 10th as a team at the Cumberland 1A Sectional. Cosart finished in 9th place overall with a time of 15:54.1 to be an individual qualifier for the state meet. He will run this Saturday at Detweiller Park in Peoria in the 1A State Final at 10:00am with the 1A Awards Ceremony then being held at 11:00am.

The Bobcats would miss out on the team qualification for state by just 39 points and four spots. Sophomore Griffin Vaughn turned in a 24th place finish with a time of 16:24.0 and senior Aiden Wallace came in 85th with a time of 17:49.1. Freshman Deacon Sutter came in not far behind Wallace running a time of 17:55.7 for 89th place and sophomore Porter Lilly came in 103rd with a time of 18:10.0 to be the final of five scoring runners for CHBC. Rounding out the CHBC team competitors was sophomore Hayden Sarver running 18:50.8 for 125th and freshman Kaiden Garrido finishing in 135th with a time of 19:16.8.
