Altamont Soccer Takes Down Robinson, Advances to Regional Semifinals

Altamont soccer has kept their season going for at least one more game after getting a 6-1 win over Robinson in the quarterfinals of their own Altamont 1A Regional on Tuesday. The fifth-seeded Indians have earned a spot in the Regional Semifinals where they will face an unfamiliar opponent in #3 seed Staunton. The two teams despite never meeting this season do have many like opponents as they both faced, and beat Vandalia, Carlyle, Greenville and Pana and they also both faced Wesclin with Altamont falling to the Warriors 2-0 in their meeting and Staunton split a pair of games with them, losing one 2-0 and winning the other 1-0. Staunton and Altamont will play their Regional Semifinal game on Saturday at 12:00pm at Altamont Grade School.
