Playing for the second time in the last two weeks, Altamont and St. Elmo-Brownstown battled it out in regular season National Trail Conference action on Friday night with the Indians grabbing a 61-40 win over the Eagles. Altamont would score first and would take a 9-2 lead before SEB cut the Indian lead to 9-6. The Indians would extend their lead back out to seven again and the Eagles would continue to chip away and pull back within a couple points before Altamont extended the lead out again to 19-12 at the end of the first quarter. SEB would come back and go on a 12-5 run in the second quarter and would tie the game up at 24-24 before an Altamont 3-pointer from Alec Jahraus at the buzzer put the Indians on top 27-24 at halftime. Momentum would swing back the Indians way after the break, and a 20-12 Altamont run put them ahead 47-26 at the end of the third quarter. Altamont kept their scoring run going in the fourth as the Indians outscored the Eagles 14-4 to close out the win, 61-40. Altamont improves to 18-6 on the season and remains unbeaten in NTC play at 6-0. SEB now stands at 20-7 and is 4-3 in the NTC.
