The #2 seed Altamont Indians are into the championship semifinals of the National Trail Conference Tournament after beating Windsor/Stew-Stras 71-44 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night. The Indians got off to a hot start, holding WSS to just one baskets and two free throws in the first quarter and jumped out to a 17-4 lead. Altamont would outscore the Hatchets 18-13 in the second quarter and pushed their lead to 35-17 at halftime. WSS would be able to hang close with the Indians in the third quarter as Altamont would only outscore the Hatchets 22-18 in the third but maintained a 57-35 lead heading into the fourth. A 14-9 run in the fourth quarter would help the Indians close out the 71-44 win. With the win, Altamont improves to 13-4 on the season and advances to the tournament’s Championship Semifinals where they will face #3 seed Dieterich on Friday at 7:45pm.
