CHBC came up with a wild win on Friday night at home, as they knocked off South Central in double overtime, 54 to 48.
CHBC lead throughout the first half, leading 11 to 5 after the first quarter and then holding an 18 to 17 advantage at the break. The Bobcats were able to extend that lead to 31 to 25 heading into the 4th quarter. But, most of the 4th quarter went South Central’s way, as they held CHBC to just 4 points for the first 7:50 of the 4th quarter. South Central lead 40 to 35 with 10 seconds remaining. CHBC’s AJ Radloff hit a 3 pointer with 2.7 seconds left. Max Magnus was then fouled with 1.8 seconds left to give South Central a 3 point lead. CHBC’s Kaidyn Calame had just enough time for a half court 3 pointer that rattled around and eventually fell in to tie the game and send it to the first overtime. In the second OT, CHBC led by 2 when South Central’s Callaway Smith was fouled on a 3 point attempt with 0.8 seconds remaining. Smith hit the first, missed the second and then hit the third to send the game to a second OT. In the second extra 4 minutes, CHBC was able to get to the free throw line and take control to come up with the 6 point win. CHBC improves to 9-11 on the season while South Central falls to 11-10. Next up for both teams is the NTC Tournament.
