Ramsey is 0-2 in pool play at the Dieterich Boys Holiday Tournament after falling to top seed Dieterich and #4 seed CHBC on Tuesday. In the tournament’s opening game on Tuesday morning, the #8 seeded Rams fell to #1 seed and host Dieterich, 70-31. The Maroons used a big 27-9 first quarter run to pull ahead of Ramsey. The Rams defense would hold Dieterich to eight points in the second quarter but the Rams managed just seven points of their own as Ramsey trailed 35-16 at halftime. Dieterich pulled away in the third quarter with a 23-7 run as Ramsey would trail 58-23 heading into the fourth but the Rams were unable to overcome their early deficit and would fall.
In their second game of pool play, the Rams would take on CHBC for the third time this season and fell for the third time, 74-48. Ramsey fell behind early, trailing 27-16 at the end of the first and 47-25 at halftime. The Rams would tighten their defense in the second half and stick closer to the Bobcats, but were still outscored 27-23 over the third and fourth quarters as they suffered the loss. Ramsey is now 0-2 in pool play and 2-14 on the season. They will play their final pool play game today at 1:00pm against Arcola.
