CHBC Comes From Behind to Beat Vandalia in Physical Battle


Vandalia held the first half lead but Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City used a strong third quarter to take the lead and pull out the 58-52 win in a close battle between the teams. Vandalia would take an early lead, going up 19-13 at the end of the first quarter and would then extend that lead out to 30-19 after outscoring CHBC 11-6 in the second quarter. CHBC would take the upper hand in the third quarter, outscoring Vandalia 24-10 to take a 43-40 lead heading into the fourth quarter. CHBC would again outscore Vandalia in the fourth, 15-12, to claim the 58-52 win. CHBC improves to 7-5 on the season and will be at Altamont for a National Trail Conference matchup on Thursday. Vandalia drops to 4-7 on the season and will have a week off before hosting Brownstown-St. Elmo on December 19.
