Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City boys basketball fell to the .500 mark for the season and to 1-2 in the National Trail Conference, falling at Dieterich 56-35 on Friday night. Playing in their second NTC game this week, the Bobcats were outscored 12-7 in each of the first two quarters as they found themselves down 24-14 at halftime. Despite being a strong team coming out of the locker room after halftime throughout the first few weeks of the season, CHBC was very uncharacteristically held scoreless in the third quarter as Dieterich pushed their lead to 41-14. The Bobcats bounced back in the fourth quarter and went on a 21-15 run to outscore the Maroons, but would run out of time on their comeback attempt and would fall 56-35. CHBC drops to 4-4 on the season and are now 1-2 in the NTC. They will get four days off now before they get back into action on Wednesday when they begin play in the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament as the #3 seed and will face #6 seed Cumberland at 7:45pm on Wednesday in the tournament quarterfinals.
