Vandals Boys Golf Claims SCC Golf Tournament Championship by 42 Strokes


The Vandalia High School boys golf team claimed the South Central Conference Golf Tournament Championship in commanding fashion on Tuesday, winning the tournament by 42 strokes at Indian Springs Golf Course. The Vandals finished with a score of 297 as a team with Hillsboro coming in second at 339 and Litchfield third with a 346. Vandalia junior Chase Laack took medalist honors as the tournament champion with a score of 71 and Vandals freshman Conner McCall was right on his heels finishing second with a 72 and junior Jacob Schaal right behind them with a 73 for third place. Dylan Halford finished tied for 6th with an 81 and senior Riley Ruckman was 10th with an 84. Freshman Jonah Beesley finished just outside of the top 10 with a score of 86. The Vandals will immediately get back in action as they travel to Litchfield on Wednesday and will be back home for Senior Day on Thursday when they honor Riley Ruckman and Nick Rosborough at 3:30pm prior to the match.
