Altamont softball scored in just one inning, but that is all that they needed as they beat Neoga, 3 to 0, in National Trail Conference action on Monday. After a scoreless first inning, Altamont got a leadoff single from Cecilia Pearcy to start the second inning and Laila Hankins followed that up with a single of her own.. A single to right field from Madison Tonn scored Pearcy from second base for a 1-0 Lady Indians lead and left runners at first and third. Sophia Long then roped a single to right field to score Hankins and Tonn came around all the way from first on the throw as Altamont went up 3-0. That would be it for scoring in the game as Altamont pitcher Grace Lemke continued to mow down the Neoga batters, accounting for all 21 outs in the game and facing just one batter over the minimum who was hit by a Lemke pitch as she record her fifth no-hitter of the season. Altamont moves to 14-5 on the season and will be back at it today at Effingham with game time set for 4:00pm.
