Brownstown-St. Elmo baseball couldn’t stop Flora late as the Bombers suffered a 9 to 2 loss on the road on Monday. Trailing 1-0 in the third inning, Keelan Speagle singled and came around to score on a RBI single from Zayden Gillespie as BSE tied the game up at 1-1. With Nolan Wilhour at the plate, Gillespie stole second base and then third base before Wilhour singled to score Gillespie and give the Bombers a 2-1 lead. BSE was unfortunately held scoreless over the remaining four innings, as Flora scored a pair of fifth inning runs and then put up another six runs in the sixth inning as the Bombers were handed a 9-2 loss. BSE drops to 4-10 on the season and will next play on Thursday at Vandalia.
