Altamont's Lemke Signs to Play Softball and Volleyball for College of Lake County


Altamont senior Grace Lemke will be continuing her athletic career at the collegiate level in two sports as she will play both softball and volleyball for the College of Lake County Lancers beginning next year. Lemke made her commitment official a while back while on a visit to the CLC campus, but says being able to have her signing ceremony surrounded by teammates and friends at home made it all feel more real.

Lemke has been dominant on the diamond for the Lady Indians and has been a key player on the volleyball court as well and says it was during volleyball season that she decided she wanted to play both sports collegiately.

Lemke who just recently surpassed a major milestone of 1,000 strikeouts for her high school pitching career will join a Lancer softball program that is have a strong season at 28-17 so far with a dominating 14-0 record in conference play. CLC volleyball is a rebuilding program that played a shortened 9 match season in 2024 and is preparing for a new season under second year head coach Sam Choy.
