Two more VCHS boys track records were broken, one for the second time this year, as the Vandals came in second at the Comet Relays Meet held on Friday in Greenville. The Vandals finished second with 77 points, coming in just three points behind first place Nashville with 80 points and 22 points ahead of third place Hillsboro with 55 points. During the meet, the boys 4×100 relay team of Jay Keck, Paddy McDowell, Kohnor Depew and Ian Whitehead ran a time of 44.14 seconds to beat the record of 44.54 seconds that the same foursome just set last week. That same group later in Friday’s meet then shattered the 4×200 school record by running a time of 1:31.60 to best the previous record of 1:33.31 that was set back in 2019. The Vandals will now get to come home for their next meet as they will host their final home meet of the season on Tuesday with five other teams in attendance.
