The Mulberry Grove Lady Aces used a big five-run fourth inning to help propel them to an 11-1 win over the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats on Wednesday. CHBC got on the board first with a lead-off home run from Ryleigh Sarver to take an early 1-0 lead. The Lady Aces would respond in the bottom of the first when Taylor Stone would double to score Jeni Mezo to tie the game at 1. Mulberry Grove would take the lead in the bottom of the third when Callye Earnest hit a two-run homer to make it a 3-1 game. The Lady Aces would break the game open with a five-run fourth inning, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Lily Johnson, and Annie Jackson reached on an error to score two more runs. Mulberry Grove ended it in the fifth inning off of a two-RBI double from Stone, and an RBI single from Kamryn Jolliff to give them the 11-1 win. The win improves Mulberry Grove to 7-4 on the season, and 2-0 in EI play. They will take on Staunton on Thursday. CHBC falls to 1-9 on the season, and 0-1 in EI play. They will be on the road on Thursday to take on SEB.
