Buchanan Drives in 5 Runs as South Central Shuts Out Ramsey 11-0


Bru Buchanan had a big day for South Central softball driving in five runs as the Lady Cougars shut out Ramsey, 11 to 0, in five innings on Wednesday. South Central opened the game’s scoring in the top of the second inning on a double by Buchanan that scored courtesy runner Baylee Brown for a 1-0 lead and then Buchanan scored on a wild pitch for a 2-0 South Central lead. In the top of the third inning, a Ramsey error allowed Maddie Peddicord to score before the bases would get loaded and Buchanan hit a grand slam to left field to bring in four runs and the Lady Cougars lead grew to 7-0. Still in the third inning, South Central tacked on two more runs, scoring on a pair of wild pitches to push their lead to 9-0. The game’s final two runs came in the fifth inning as South Central scored on two more wild pitches for an 11-0 lead before the Lady Cougars held Ramsey scoreless in the bottom half of the inning to close out the 11-0 win. South Central moves to 11-7 on the season and will be back home on Friday to host Edwards County.
