Lady Indians Take 6th at Robinson’s Sam Bennett Invite With Eight Top 5 Finishes

Altamont girls track had a successful day at the Robinson Sam Bennett Invite on Friday, placing 6^th out of 15 teams and bringing home eight top 5 finishes. In the team standings, the Lady Indians finished behind three of the four 2A teams (Olney, Robinson and Paris) in the meet as well as the current Illinois Run News #9 and #10 Class 1A teams in the State in Newton and Shelbyville. Individually, Altamont had three second place finishes in the meet from Abby Weishaar in the 400m Dash, the 4×100 relay team of Gabby Weishaar, Ada Roberts, Katie Tedrick and Abby Weishaar and the 4×200 relay team of Gabby Weishaar, Keely Fleeharty, Katie Tedrick and Ada Roberts. Third place finishes came from Justyce Higgs in the Discus and Ada Roberts in the Long Jump while Gabby Weishaar took fourth in the 200m Dash, Abby Weishaar took fifth in the 100m Dash and Jenna Kollman finished in fifth place in the Discus. The Lady Indians will be back on the track this coming Thursday as they will compete in the Olney Girls Invitational.
