Records Fall as Vandalia Boys Track Gets Two Team Wins This Week


The Vandalia boys track team saw two more records fall this week as they hosted their first two of four home meets this season. In Thursday’s meet, junior Kohnor Depew rebroke his 100m Dash record that he just set a week and a half ago as he ran a time of 11.14 seconds to beat his record of 11.27 seconds that he ran on April 8 at Gillespie. Also in Thursday’s meet, the 4×100 relay team of Jay Keck, Paddy McDowell, Ian Whitehead and Depew ran a time of 44.54 seconds which beat the previous record of 44.82 seconds that was set in 2017. The Vandalia boys will be back in action on Tuesday as they will compete at the Pirate Invite at Cumberland.

Ian Whitehead – 100m Dash, 11.34 seconds; 400m Dash, 53.74 seconds and Triple Jump, 37’ 10.5”

Kohnor Depew – 200m Dash, 22.54 seconds
