Altamont baseball’s six game win streak was snapped on Thursday as the Indians fell to Delavan, 5 to 1, at Greenville University. After Delavan took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Altamont’s lone run of the game came in the bottom of the first inning. Leadoff batter Kade Milleville singled to right field and was advanced to third base on a passed ball in each of the next two at bats. With two outs, Zaine Miller was hit by a pitch putting runners at the corners for the Indians before Cooper McManaway singled to center field to score Milleville to tie the game up at 1-1. The Panthers would retake the lead with a run in the second inning and scored one more in the fourth inning as Altamont trailed 3-1. Two runs in the top of the seventh capped off the game’s scoring as Delvan handed the Indians the 5-1. The loss is just the third of the season the Indians who now stand at 10-3. They are now off for Easter weekend and will return to the field on Monday as they host Windsor/Stew-Stras.
