South Central Suffers Tough 2-1 Loss in Tight Battle at Flora


South Central softball suffered a tough 2-1 loss at Flora on Wednesday as a first inning 1-1 tie held until the Wolfgals walked it off in the bottom of the seventh inning. The visiting Lady Cougars got a double from Maddie Peddicord for their first hit of the game and she came in to score when Kinlee Thompson singled with two outs in the inning as South Central grabbed the early 1-0 lead. Flora quickly toed the game up as their leadoff batter hit a solo home run to center field to tie the game up at 1-1. A tight battle ensued until the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, Flora tripled to put a runner on and the next batter doubled to left field to bring in the game winning run and hand the Lady Cougars the 2-1 loss. South Central now stands at even .500 on the season at 7-7 and will play for the fourth consecutive day today as they will be at home to take on Neoga in a National Trail Conference matchup.
