A four-run seventh inning pushed Mulberry Grove softball to a 7 to 3 win over Christ Our Rock Lutheran at home on Tuesday. A Kamryn Jolliff single to center field opened the scoring as two runners crossed the plate on the hit and the Lady Aces took a 2-0 lead. Mulberry Grove was then held scoreless for three innings before a RBI groundout from Taylor Stone brought in a run and edged the Lady Aces lead out to 3-0. The Lancers scored their first two runs of the game in the top of the sixth inning and cut the Mulberry Grove lead down to 3-2 but a two out rally by the Aces in the bottom half of the inning opened the game back up. With a runner on first after a Lincolnwood error and two outs, Lyla Mollett was hit by a pitch to put two runners on a back to back doubles by Jenni Mezo and Lola Johnson scored three runs for a 6-2 lead. A third consecutive hit, a single from Lily Johnson, scored the final run of the game for the Aces as they held a 7-2 lead before a line out ended any further Mulberry Grove scoring threat. The Lancers scored one more run in the top of the seventh inning to cut it to a 7-3 ballgame, but back to back strikeouts end the game and sealed the Lady Aces win. Mulberry Grove is now 6-3 on the season and plays their third game in three days when they host Father McGivney today.
