Vandalia girls track and field brought home three top 8 individual finishes and came in 11th as a team at the Shelbyville Girls Open on Friday night. The meet featured three of the current top 10 ranked teams in 1A as well as three tough 2A teams in the 13-team field. Junior Hannah Brown, the current 4th ranked shot put thrower in 1A, brought home a first place finish as she outthrew the current #10 1A thrower, who was also at the meet, by 5.5 inches for the top spot. Junior jumper Destinee Rine grabbed a fifth pace finish in the high jump and a seventh place finish in the 400m Dash. The Lady Vandals will return to action at home this week, hosting meets on Tuesday and Thursday.
