South Central softball suffered a rough 16 to 1 loss to Newton at home on Friday. The Lady Cougars were held to just three hits in the game, one each from Kaitlyn Swift, Lauren Johnson and Amelia Montes. The lone South Central run came on a RBI groundout by Abi Shuler in the bottom of the second inning that brough Johnson in to score. With the loss, the Cougars drop to 4-5 on the season and will have a quick turnaround with two games on Saturday morning, taking on Breese Central at 9:00am and Woodlawn at 1:00pm.
