The Altamont Lady Indians used a mix of singles, drawn walks and took advantage of a couple errors to put up 11 runs in the top of the 3rd inning on the way to a 12-1 win over Nokomis on Friday. The scoreless game was broke up in that top of the 3rd inning as passed balls during two consecutive at bats allowed two Altamont runners to cross the plate for a 2-0 lead. A bases loaded walk brought in one more run before a 2 RBI singles from Madison Tonn put the Lady Indians up 5-0. Altamont continued trading walks and singles to score six more quick runs as the lead ballooned to 11-0. Nokomis scored their only run in the bottom of the third to cut the Indians lead to 11-1. A final run by Altamont in the top of the fifth made it 12-1 and that would hold as the Lady Indians beat Nokomis in five innings. Altamont improves to 8-3 on the season. They will be back on the field on Monday at St. Elmo-Brownstown for a National Trail Conference matchup.
