Brownstown-St. Elmo baseball was held to just two runs on two hits as they suffered a 10-2 loss at Pana in a game that was called with two outs in the top of the 6th inning due to lightning in the area. The Bombers trailed 2-0 after the Panthers had scored a run in both the second and third innings. BSE got some offense going in the top of the fourth though and Corey Hoopingarner led the inning of with a single to left field and Calvin Voelker drew a walk. After their first out of the inning, Jayce Gillespie drew a walk as well for the Bombers to load the bases. Lane Stine singled to left field to score Hoopingarner and to cut the Pana lead to 2-1 and the bases were again loaded for BSE. Lucas Powell drew a walk to bring another run in and tie the game up at 2-2. A strikeout and a pop out would end the Bomber scoring threat through. Pana regained the lead with a run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 3-2 but then bust the game open with a 7-run fifth inning to pull away from the Bombers for a 10-2 lead. The game was then called in the top of the sixth. With the loss, BSE drops to 3-6 on the season and will be back in action on Saturday at Wayne City.
