Mulberry Grove softball tallied six hits, but was held to just a single run in a 6 to 1 loss at Highland on Tuesday. Trailing 1-0 after three innings, Taylor Stone hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth to even up the score at 1-1. Highland scored two runs on a Mulberry Grove error and on a 2-run home run as Mulberry Grove trailed 5-1 at the end of the fourth inning. Highland scored one more run in the fifth inning and the Aces found themselves down 6-1. Jenni Mezo hit a two out triple in the top of the seventh inning but was stranded on base after a pop out for the third out to end the ball game. With the 6-1 loss, Mulberry Grove drops to 4-3 on the season and will be off until Monday when they will be in action at Vandalia.
