Altamont scored four runs in the first inning and then three runs in their last inning at the plate while Brownstown-St. Elmo was held to no runs on three hits and the Indians shut out the Bombers 7 to 0 on Tuesday. The Indians used a leadoff walk and intentional walk that was issued to Keegan Schultz to put two runners on. An error allowed Brayden Elam to score for a 1-0 Altamont lead. With two outs in the inning, an RBI single from Blake Berg and a 2 RBI singled from Dyson Wagner brought in three more runs and Altamont’s lead grew to 4-0. After four and a half scoreless innings, the Indians got RBI singles from Brayden Schnarre, Zaine Miller and Wagner for three more runs to push the lead to 7-0. That would wrap up scoring in the game as BSE put a runner on base in the top of the seventh but that runner was stranded at first as Altamont completed the 7-0 shutout win. Altamont improves to 7-2 on the season and will host Vandalia on Thursday. BSE is now 3-5 on the season and will be on the road on Thursday at Pana.
