The South Central Cougars earned their third straight win, shutting out the Browstown/St. Elmo Bombers on Monday 4-0. Zane Montes, Callaway Smith, Chase Guerrettaz, and Trevan Sidwell combined to no-hit the Bombers in the contest. The Cougars wasted no time getting on the board, with Colton Smith getting an RBI double to make it 1-0 in the bottom of the first. South Central would add to that total in the bottom of the second, with Chase Guerrettaz getting an RBI single to make it 2-0, and an RBI single from Zane Montes in the third inning would give the Cougars a 3-0 lead. South Central would get an insurance run in the fifth inning, with Callaway Smith scoring on a groundout from Montes. Guerrettaz and Trevan Sidwell would combine for the final six outs, giving the Cougars the 4-0 win. South Central improves to 5-2 on the season. They will be back home on Wednesday to take on St. Anthony. BSE falls to 3-4 on the season. They will be back in action on Tuesday to take on Altamont.
