CHBC Softball Beats North Clay for First Win of the Season


CHBC softball got their first win of the season on Tuesday, beating North Clay 10 to 5 in National Trail Conference action. The Bobcats jumped ahead early with a first inning run and extended their lead to 4-0 with three runs in the top of the second inning. The Cardinals scored their first two runs in the bottom of the third inning to close the Bobcat lead to 4-2. A run in the fourth and another in the sixth inning edged CHBC’s lead out to 6-2 before a big 4-run seventh inning had the Bobcats ahead, 10-2. North Clay fought back and put three runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh inning, but CHBC closed off the scoring as they pulled out the 10-5 win. CHBC is now 1-2 on the season and 1-1 in the NTC. They will play at Mulberry Grove on Thursday.
