Seventh Inning Offensive Outburst Leads Altamont to Win at Casey-Westfield

Altamont used a seventh inning offensive surge to get a 5 to 2 win at Casey-Westfield on Tuesday night. Runs were at a premium for most of the game with both teams going scoreless through the first three and a half innings. The Warriors scored the game’s first run in the bottom of the fourth as the Indians trailed 1-0. Another Casey-Westfield run in the bottom of the sixth had Altamont down 2-0 heading in the seventh inning. Back to back singles by Carson Milleville and Dyson Wagner to start the inning and a groundout then advanced the runners both into scoring position. The first two Altamont runs crossed the plate on a passed ball that scored both Milleville and Wagner to tie the game up at 2-2. A walk from Parker Bell and a single by Brayden Elam put a pair of runners aboard again and the runners both came in on back to back RBI singles from Keegan Schults and Zaine Miller to put the Indians up 4-2. A third single in a row from Brayden Schnarre to right field and then an error during the play allow Miller to score for a 5-2 Altamont lead. That would be it for the Indians scoring and they would allow two Warrior runners on base in the bottom of the inning and then got out of the jam to seal the win. Altamont moves to 4-0 to start the season and will play on the road again Thursday at Newton.
