Altamont Track and Field had a strong showing at the Gene Armer Invitational held at the University of Illinois’ Armory on Saturday with 16 Class 1A teams, 22 Class 2A teams and 10 Class 3A teams competing all together in one class. The Indians finished 10th overall as a team, one of just two 1A teams finishing in the top 20, with five top 6 finishes while the Lady Indians turned in four top 15 finishes and came in 21st as a team. For the boys, Ben Roedl had three top 3 finishes placing second in the triple jump and third in both the high jump and long jump. Hayden Summers grabbed a 5th place finish in the 400m Dash and Jacob Veteto finished 6th in the Pole Vault. For the girls, Ada Roberts finished 3rd in the long jump, Abby Weishaar came in 7th in the 400m Dash, the 4×200 team of Ada Roberts, Gabby Weishaar, Katie Tedrick and Abby Weishaar came in 12th place and Gabby Weishaar came in 15th in the 200m Dash. Next up for Altamont will be the Illinois Top Times Indoor Championships this Friday at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington.
