Altamont baseball finished off the first week of the season 3-0 after getting an 11 to 3 win at Carlyle on Saturday morning. Altamont jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on back to back RBI doubles from Brayden Schnarre and Zaine Miller. Carlyle tied things up in the bottom half of the inning to make it 2-2. Altamont regained the lead 2-1 in the top of third on a Keegan Schultz RBI single to go up 3-2. Carlyle again tied things up, 3-3, in the bottom of the inning but Altamont struck back again with a run in the fourth to take a 4-3 lead. That lead stuck as Altamont added on two more runs in the fifth on a 2 RBI single by Carson Milleville to push the lead to 6-3. An error in the top of the sixth inning allowed Altamont to score on an error and edge their lead out to 7-3 before a four run seventh inning with an error, a triple from Brayden Elam and a double from K. Milleville brought in four more runs as Altamont opened the lead to 11-3. Carlyle went down on three straight strikeouts in the bottom of the seventh as Altamont finished off the 11-3 win. Altamont is 3-0 to start the season and will be back at home on Tuesday to host Casey-Westfield.
