Brownstown-St. Elmo baseball went on the road for the first time this Spring and brought home their first win of the season with an 8-5 win over Hillsboro on Friday. After falling behind 1-0 after the first inning, the Bombers tied things up 1-1 in the second and then put up five runs in the third inning to push their lead to 6-1. After two innings worth of baseball, Hillsboro put together a four run fifth inning to close the BSE lead down to 6-5. That would be it for the Hiltoppers scoring as the Bombers put another run up in the top of the sixth inning and an insurance run in the top of the seventh to closeout the 8-5. BSE is now 1-1 to start the season and will take on North Clay at home on Tuesday.
