Myers Approved as New VCHS Wrestling Head Coach

The Vandalia High School wrestling program has its new leader as Patrick Myers was approved by the Vandalia School Board on Thursday night to succeed Jason Clay as coach. Myers has been the assistant coach for the Vandals for several years and now becomes the 11th Head Coach in program history. Myers is a former standout wrestler himself, competing for Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville prior to coming to Vandalia. Myers will begin his first season with a large number of returning individual state qualifiers and medalists and team members from a Vandals team that just finished in second place at the Dual Team State Tournament.
