The South Central Lady Cougars kicked off the 2025 season with a 13-2 rout of Pana in their home opener at Deep Rock Field on Tuesday. The Lady Cougars jumped all over the Panthers early with six runs on six hits in the bottom of the first inning for a 6-0 lead. One more run in the second edged the South Central lead to 7-0 before Pana was able to put up their first run in the top of the third to make it 7-1. Two more Cougar runs in the bottom of the fourth pushed the South Central lead to 9-1. Pana again was able to put just a single run on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning to cut the Cougar lead to 9-2. South Central would cap off their scoring in the bottom of the sixth inning with four runs capped off by a 2-run home run by Kinlee Thompson that put South Central over the 10-run threshold as the Cougars beat the Panthers 13-2 in six innings. South Central starts the season at 1-0 and will play their first road game on Friday at Okaw Valley.
