St. Elmo-Brownstown softball suffered a 15-1 loss at Nokomis in their season opener on Tuesday. The Lady Eagles got out to a 1-0 lead when a two-out triple from Madi Miller scored Dayana Haslett. Nokomis would tie things up at 1-1 with a run in the bottom of the first inning. After pulling away with three runs in the bottom of the second inning to make it 4-1, Nokomis put up 10 runs in the third inning as SEB could not stop the Nokomis offensive onslaught to trail 15-1. The Lady Eagles put one runner aboard in the top of the fifth inning but that would be it for offense as SEB was handed the 15-1 loss. SEB starts the season at 0-1 and will be back on the road on Thursday for their second of three road games to start the season. The Eagles will be in Toledo to take on Cumberland at 4:30pm on Thursday.
