South Central’s Swift Sisters Sign With Olney Central College

South Central Lady Cougars softball will have two more softball players in Olney Central College uniforms next year after senior twin sisters Kaitlyn and Kyra Swift held their signing ceremony on Thursday to continue their softball careers for the Blue Knights. With family and coaches from their school and travel softball teams in attendance, Kaitlyn and Kyra made their commitment official. Kaitlyn, a middle infielder for the Lady Cougars, is a two-time National Trail Conference Softball All-Conference honoree during her freshman and junior years while Kyra, a centerfielder, is also a two-time NTC All-Conference Team honoree making the team her sophomore and junior seasons. The girls are coming off fall travel seasons with the South Central Storm that in 33 games saw Kaitlyn hit .474 with a .559 on base percentage and .491 slugging percentage and Kyra hit .299 with a .382 on base percentage and .478 slugging percentage. During their spring 2024 season for SCHS, the twins helped push the Lady Cougars to a 24-12 record and a postseason run that saw the Lady Cougars win their fifth overall Regional Championship for the program and their third straight before falling to NTC rival WSS in the Sectional Championship game. They will kick off the 2025 season, their senior season at SCHS next week. As they move on to OCC after this year, Kaitlyn will study Criminology/Forensics, working towards achieving a Masters degree. Kyra plans to study Molecular Biology to achieve her degree with a focus on Anesthesiology.
