The Vandalia Vandals boys basketball team ended the regular season on a high note, winning 49-41 over the Pana Panthers. The Vandals had their inside game working well in the first quarter, as Lucas Bowers and Wade Brannon combined for 10 points, helping them end the frame with a 14-8 lead. The second quarter would be an offensive struggle, with Pana outscoring Vandalia 12-6 as the two teams would enter the half tied up at 20. The Vandals would come out strong in the second half, going on an 11-7 run to enter the fourth quarter with a 31-27 advantage. The Vandals would get another strong quarter from Brannon and Bowers, with the two combining for 12 points to help aid an 18-10 4th quarter run, to pull away with the 49-41 win. The Vandals end the regular season at 14-17, and 5-4 in SCC play . Vandalia will begin postseason play Monday when they host Flora for the opening round of the Fairfield Regional.
