Altamont boys basketball used a second quarter run to pull away from Christ Our Rock and grab a 70 to 50 win during Saturday’s NTC/CIC Shootout at Altamont High School. The Indians got things going quickly offensively putting up 18 points in the opening quarter, led by seven points from Zaine Miller, as they took an 18-14 lead by the end of the quarter. Kade Milleville’s seven points and six points from Cooper McManaway in the second quarter fueled a 17-6 run that saw Altamont pull ahead 35-20 at halftime. Miller hit for another eight points in the third quarter with five from Milleville and four from Ben Roedl as a 17-15 advantage in the frame put Altamont up 52- 35 to start the fourth quarter. Going 9 for 11 from the free throw line, the Indians outscored the Stallions 18-15 in the final quarter to close off the 70-50 win. The Indians move to 16-11 on the season with three games upcoming this week for the final week of the regular season. They will host St. Anthony on Tuesday before traveling to Windsor/Stew-Stras on Thursday and then being back home on Friday to host Marshall.
