The first two rounds of action are down at the Carterville 1A Boys Individual Wrestling Sectional and Vandalia has 9 guys into the Semifinals after the completion of the Preliminary and Quarterfinal rounds on Friday night. Aiden Evans at 106, Max Philpot at 113, Preston Waughtel at 120, Tyson Waughtel at 126, Cole Yarbrough at 138, Dillon Hinton at 150, Ross Miller at 175, Kaden Tidwell at 215 and Dominic Swyers at 285 are into the Semifinals. Brody Matthews at 132, Keagan Turner at 144, Parker Ray at 157 and Artan Mustafa at 165 will all be in the Wrestlebacks to work their way back to the Place matches. Wrestling for Session 2 begins at 9:00am this morning before the Place matches will be held this afternoon.

Max Philpot, 113lbs: After a Preliminary Round BYE, Philpot beat Paxton Pyatt of Murphysboro by Tech Fall, 17-1, and will now face Ramiro Sebastian of Carterville in the Semifinals.
Preston Waughtel, 120lbs: After a Preliminary Round BYE, Waughtel beat Zane Stanley of Benton by Tech Fall, 17-2, and will now face Kaiden Stewart of Effingham in the Semifinals.

Brody Matthews, 132lbs: Matthews beat Lukas Quartz on Freeburg by Major Decision, 13-1, and then suffered a loss to Tyler Huchel of Oakwood by Decision, 1-0, in the Quarterfinals. He will now go to Wrestlebacks where he will face Jase Holshouser of Anna-Jonesboro.
Cole Yarbrough, 138lbs: After a Preliminary Round BYE, Yarbrough beat Cale Seitzinger of Lawrenceville by Decision, 10-5, and will now face Broady Kelly of Robinson in the Semifinals.
Keagan Turner, 144lbs: After a Preliminary Round BYE, Turner lost to Carter Chambliss of Oakwood by Decision, 2-1, and will go to Wrestlebacks to face Ronald Laplante of Carlinville.
Dillon Hinton, 150lbs: After a Preliminary Round BYE, Hinton beat Gavin Watson of Sparta by Fall in 1:54 and will now face Gabriel Kiddoo of Westville in the Semifinals.
Parker Ray, 157lbs: Ray lost to Ben Mullins of Robinson by Decision, 8-7, in the Preliminary Round and will go to Wrestlebacks where he will face Alex Wolter of Red Bud.
Artan Mustafa, 165lbs: Mustafa beat Gage Emmerich of Effingham by Fall in 2:34 in the Preliminary Round but then lost to Lyndon Thies of Roxana by Fall in 0:50 in the Quarterfinals. Mustafa will go to the Wrestlebacks where he will face Granger Motch of Salem.
Ross Miller, 175lbs: After a Preliminary Round BYE, Miller beat Carter Jones of Carterville by Fall in 1:33 in the Quarterfinals and will now face Clayton Dent of West Frankfort in the Semifinals.
