Vandalia girls wrestling has one through to the Semifinals while the remaining four will go through Wrestlebacks to get to the place matches at the Highland Girls Individual Sectional. Sophie Bowers at 125 got a Quarterfinal win by Fall to get into the Semifinals, Amelia Watterson at 140 lost in the Preliminary Round to go to Wrestlebacks whi Brynn Swyers at 170 got a Preliminary Round win before falling in the Quarterfinals. Both Violet Gray at 190 and Gracey Simmons at 235 had Preliminary Round BYEs before falling into the Semifinals. Action at Highland will resume at 9:00am this morning with Wrestlebacks with Semifinals and Place matches this afternoon.

Sophie Bowers, 125lbs: After having a Preliminary Round BYE, Bowers defeated Adilyn Avilez of Dwight by Fall in 1:24 in the Quarterfinals. Bowers is into the Semifinals where she will face Brooklyn Alldredge of Edwardsville.
Amelia Watterson, 140lbs: Watterson lost to Aubrey Raban of Freeburg by Decision, 5-0, in the Preliminary Round and fell into the Wrestlebacks where she will face Jacee Mardirosian of Carterville.
Brynn Swyers, 170lbs: Swyers beat Diana Naxi of Clinton by Fall in 5:46 in the Preliminary round before suffering a loss by Fall in 0:32 to August Rottmann of Highland in the Quarterfinals. She will face Ariel Clayton of Robinson in the Wrestlebacks.
Violet Gray, 190lbs: After having a Preliminary Round BYE, Gray lost to Maddi Ramaker of TriCo by Decision, 7-0, in the Quarterfinals. Gray will go to the Wrestlebacks where she will face Alora Washington of Pontiac.
Gracey Simmons, 235lbs: After a Preliminary Round BYE, Simmons lost to Cadence Duvall of Normal West by Fall in 1:15 in the Quarterfinals. She will face Paighton Bell of Springfield in the Wrestlebacks.
