St. Elmo-Brownstown stopped their three game losing streak using a strong second half to get a 78 to 61 win on the road Saturday at Grayville. The Eagles couldn’t shake the Bison in the first quarter as it would be a basket for basket match in the first quarter and the game gridlocked at 18-18 after the first eight minutes of play. SEB would fall behind in the second quarter as they were outscored 13-8 and trailed 32-27 going into the halftime break. The Eagles would come out strong to get the second half underway as they would go on a 22-13 third quarter run and take a 49-45 lead into the fourth quarter. The momentum would stay on the SEB side in the final quarter as the Eagles poured in 29 points in the quarter to outscore the Bison 29-16 to wrap up the 78-61 win. SEB gets back to .500 on the season, now standing at 7-7. They will have another non-conference game coming up on Tuesday when they are back at home to take on OPH.
