Altamont girls basketball showed off some strong defense while CHBC struggled to score as the Lady Indians got a big 44 to 17 win over CHBC in National Trail Conference action on Thursday night. CHBC was held to just two points in the first quarter as two big three pointers from Ella Nelson and four points each from Avery Aldrich and Kaylee Lurkins pushed Altamont out to an 18-2 lead at the end of the first. CHBC was again held to just two points in the second quarter as both came on free throws and another ten points from Aldrich shoved the Lady Indians lead to 30-4 at halftime. The Lady Bobcats would come out stronger in the third quarter, but Altamont would have a slight advantage in the quarter, 12-10, as they retained a large 42-14 lead. The CHBC offensive struggles returned in the fourth quarter as they were held to just three points as Altamont closed out the 44-17 win. Altamont improves to 6-6 on the season and to 3-1 in the NTC. They will be off until the begin play in the Robinson Holidaze Hoopla Tournament on December 26 when they face North Central at 6:00pm. CHBC drops to 7-6 on the season and to 0-2 in the NTC. They will be on the road on Saturday as they will take on Greenville at 1:00pm as part of the Comet Shootout.
